A U.S. military and government contractor that provides maintenance to the aircraft fleet used to monitor the US borders and beyond

PAE Inc is a military and government services contractor that provides a range of services including maintenance of military and civilian vehicle fleets, training management, and immigration processing services. The company is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, and has more than 20,000 employees operating in 60 countries. In 2020, PAE reported $2.7 billion in revenue.

PAE is one of the top contractors for many branches of the U.S. federal government, including the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS), Defense, Justice, and State. The company markets itself as a service provider to the U.S. government, allies, and international organizations. In 2020, PAE derived 89.5% of its revenue from U.S. government contracts; 35.7% of its annual revenue from contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense; and 24.3% of revenue from its National Security Solutions segment, which specializes in tools for processing, managing, and analyzing data collected about people and communities deemed a threat to national security.

PAE is one of the largest recipients of contracts from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), mainly for the maintenance and refurbishment of CBP’s aircraft fleet, which is used to monitor U.S. borders and beyond. From 2004 to 2020, CBP awarded PAE 23 contracts totaling $3.1 billion. This contract was last renewed in May 2020, in a $1.26 billion contract, which accounted for 9% of company's total 2020 revenue. As of July 2021, PAE serviced CBP at 34 aviation operational sites in the U.S. and Puerto Rico with 218 aircraft made specifically for military use.

In addition, PAE provides biometric data collection, identity verification, and criminal background checks on immigrants for the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In 2018, PAE received a contract worth a potential $560.9 million to provide the agency's application support centers (ASC) with operations and facilities services to screen immigrants. USCIS awarded PAE with similar contracts since 2016.

In the past, PAE also held contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). From 2004 to 2015, ICE awarded PAE 82 contracts totaling over $117 million. PAE’s most recent contract with ICE, worth $42.2 million, ended in 2015 and was for investigation services in the enforcement and removals department.
